Hi there, I’m Danial, and I am here today to tell you about weight loss without surgery for people who are morbidly obese.
Now, understand that I am not just another person writing about this topic – I have had experience with the dreadful impact that morbid obesity has on a person’s life.
While I wasn’t affected myself, my sister had suffered for many years.
The most frightening thing about my sister’s situation was the fact that she became morbidly obese so quickly, neither she or I really noticed her gaining so much weight.
One day, my sister had severe pain in her chest. She started to experience symptoms of a heart attack. I rushed her off to the emergency room. Luckily, it was not a heart attack.
She was treated and was able to go home after a few hours.
While my sister didn’t have a heart attack that day, the doctor did tell her something very important.
She was 115 pounds overweight at the time and her BMI was over the top for her size, which means she classified as morbidly obese.
The doctor told my sister that she had to lose weight urgently or she will suffer deadly consequences.
The Effects Of Being Morbidly Obese
I did some research and what I discovered was shocking.
Being morbidly obese is much, much worse than being obese (I’m not saying obesity is a good thing!).
Morbid obesity has been linked to the following life-threatening diseases:
- Sleep apnea
- Respiratory complications
- Type 2 diabetes
- Coronary heart disease
- Gallbladder disease
- Liver disease
Additionally, morbid obesity has also been linked to certain types of cancers.
The cancers most commonly found in people who are morbidly obese include endometrial, colon, and breast cancer.
Weight Loss Without Surgery For Morbid Obesity
The doctors recommended that my sister made some changes in her daily lifestyle – including her diet habits and her physical activity levels.
They also told her that if she failed to lose weight, she might have to consider weight loss surgery.
Bariatric surgery is the option the doctor recommended for my sister. After some research, however, I discovered that there are many risks over the long-term associated with this particular procedure.
My research revealed that, should my sister decide to undergo surgery, she might experience side-effects like low blood sugar, ulcers, hernias, bowel obstruction, and a condition known as “Dumping Syndrome” as complications.
Additionally, I also learned that malnutrition is relatively common among people who underwent bariatric surgery, which could lead to a range of other health problems.
I started to look at ways my sister could lose weight without having to undergo any type of surgical procedure. It was difficult, however.
Her large body size and heavyweight made moving difficult for her. She also became so used to the poor diet that we didn’t know how to get her to overcome her binge eating.
I did discover some useful tips that I compiled in a list.
I spoke to my sister, and we decided that she will start to follow the advice I have collected to help her start to lose weight.
We understood that losing weight as a morbidly obese individual without opting for surgery means having to make long-term lifestyle changes – but it had to be done, for the sake of my sister’s health.
Below is a couple of the tips that I found helped my sister:
- First, get rid of all junk food that is laying around at home. Go through the kitchen cupboards and the fridge. Throw them away. If other family members in the home enjoy the junk food, get them to keep it in a secret location.
- Don’t go out to McDonald’s or even a restaurant. You don’t know how they prepare your food or what is inside the food they serve you. You need to control what you put into your body.
- Start to eat more plant-based foods, as they are high in nutrients, yet do not contain a lot of calories.
- Eat a lot of vegetables and fruits, as well as healthy fats. Protein should also be an important part of your diet.
- Plan meals ahead of time to make sure they are healthy and will not promote further weight gain.
The 2-Week Diet And Its Impact On My Sister
Things were difficult, and we did not know how to “kickstart” my sister’s weight loss goals at first.
I later learned about a program – The 2 Week Diet – which was recommended to me by a dear friend.
I looked at what the program is and how it worked and discussed it with my sister. She decided to give the program a try – it was only $37 after all.

There are a variety of foods and even some treats that can be enjoyed – in moderation, of course – that will all contribute to weight loss.
The program also comes with a module on physical activity – many of the exercises are easy to perform and can be used by a person who is morbidly obese.
My sister followed the program for two weeks and felt much better about herself. She didn’t lose a massive amount of weight – she was down almost 10 pounds after the two weeks – but it was a great start.
She then continued to use the skills she learned while following this program to help her lose more weight and overcome her morbid obesity – and with great success.
To this date, my sister is following the dietary recommendations that she was introduced to the 2 Week Diet, and she still participates in the exercises she learned about while she was following the guide.
As weight continues to accumulate in the body, it eventually causes excessive weight gain and leads to morbid obesity.
My sister uncovered that she was morbidly obese after an event that caused her to be rushed to the emergency room.
After this, she decided to make some changes in her life.
